Some describe Mortehoe as the gateway to a wild, remote coast with a rich history of wrecking and smuggling. It's a quaint and pretty cliff top village with spectacular views, adjacent to the SW Coast Path leading to dramatic vistas, serene coves and award winning sandy beaches - including Woolacombe.
The village itself hosts; two pubs, tea rooms, a cafe and a fabulous restaurant together with a fully equipped village stores and post office. At its centre stands the Anglican Church of St Mary dating back to Norman times. It's a pretty village, sandwiched between the ocean and rolling green hills.
